Blue Sky Network provides asset tracking product and services where customers can purchase their satellite transceiver units for the vehicles and view the asset status and trail and even communicate with the transceiver on the Skyrouter site.

I took over from an under-performing offshore outsourcing company and delivered a more robust and user-friendly LAMP-based Skyrouter site. I also rewrote the message routing daemon in Perl and gave it better data processing capabilities and extendibility.

The site features a flash-based map client that utilizes the UMN Mapserver software on the back-end. Data can also be exported as KML feed for live visualization using Google Earth.

I also modified and added the functionality of the transceiver by modifying the C source and compiling the result using compiler supplied by the chip manufacturer.
